Data is the bread and butter of successful marketing strategy – knowing when and what to change to how to react in a certain scenario in order to engage with your clients in the best and most efficient way possible.
Even though within Releva you are surrounded by Data and Analytics (starting from the micro level on every single Releva element and end up at the macro level in Analytics where everything is aggregated together), sometimes we may simply not have the time to do all that.
This is where the Exports come in handy, so you can receive all the data you wish and simply analyze it at your leisure. So, without further ado, let’s dive in and see what we can do here.
Types of Exports #
There are two types of Data Exports:
- One time – using this type of Export will send a request to the backend right away after you Save it and you will receive an email with the file for download the moment it has been generated.
- Periodic – with this one you will define which day of the week, month or year and time to receive the data Export. You will continue receiving them until the export has been deleted or turned off.
Each will have its advantages and we will cover each of their options in detail.
There’s a nifty shortcut on almost every page of Releva which gives you quick and easy access to the Exports for the particular element. This button is located right next to the timeframe button as seen on the screenshot below:

For the purpose of this article though, we will focus on the dedicated menu, as this is where you would be able to access the already created Exports and manage them further if needed.
When you are ready, open the Releva Admin panel and navigate to the Analytics menu, while selecting Exports from its options:

Once on the page, you will be greeted by all of the data Exports you have previously done (if you don’t have any, the page will be empty, waiting for you to fill it with such exports).
Located at the top right corner, you will find a familiar + button, which will allow you to create your Export, so let’s click it:

On the new page, you will be greeted by this menu and down below we will dive deeper into all of the options at your disposal:

One Time Export #
Let’s cover each of the options for this export:
- Name – this would be the name of the report itself as created. We recommend you write a descriptive and short name so you can easily understand what this reprort is for down the line.
- Type – one Time is selected by default and this means exactly what you think it does – the report is created only once based on your request and sent to you right away.
- Period – here, you need to select a From and To date and the report will contain the Survey statistics for the selected period.
- Scope – here, you will have to select one of Releva’s elements for which you would like to receive detailed data Export. The available Scopes are the following:
- Recommenders
- Banner Blocks
- Banners
- Campaigns
- Emails
- Push Notifications
- Text Messages
- Viber Messages
- Segments
- Facebook Ads
- Catalogue Triggers
- WhatsApp Messages
- Surveys
- Selection:
- All – this option will gather the Statistics for every single Survey you have and the data gathered will be for the selected dates in the Period section.
- Specific – choosing this option will allow you to choose one of your Surveys via a drop-down menu so the generated export will only contain data for it.
- Recipients – this field is automatically populated with your Releva Admin email address but you have the option to select more recipients via the drop-down menu and even type in email addresses that aren’t present.

Periodic Export #
Let’s cover each of the options for this export:
- Name – this would be the name of the report itself as created. We recommend you write a descriptive and short name so you can easily understand what this reprort is for down the line.
- Type – even though One Time is set as default, you can change it to Periodic in order to receive a recurring export of the data.
- Schedule – here we have three options from the Select drop-down, so let’s check each of them:
- Week – choosing this option will allow you to choose the day of the week on which you would like to receive the Export via email.
- Month – choosing this option will allow you to choose the day of the month on which you would like to receive the Export via email via another drop-down.
- Year – choosing this option will allow you to choose the day and month on which you would like to receive the Export via email via individual drop-down for each option.

Getting the Export file #
When the file is generated (be it as a One time or Periodic export), every email specified in the Recipient field will receive an automatic email with a button, allowing you to download the data export.
The file will be in .CSV format so you can easily open it in your app of choice.
The email itself will look like this:

Please note, the download link alongside the file will be available for 30 days from the date you received it so it might be worth it to keep a local copy on your machine if you need access to the export frequiently.
