The Loyalty points feature can be a really nice incentive especially if it’s set up properly so it’s okay for both you and your users.
Example Scenario #
Before we dive into detail how to set up the Loyalty points, here is a small example of how this feature can be used after integrated and set.
A user leaves their email and subscribes through one of Releva’s banners on your shop. This triggers an automation that sends them an email containing the Welcome message while notifying them with the subscription they have already won X number of points (as long as you have set this as a Rule). In that same email you leave a link to the Loyalty points page so they can get familiar with all the Vouchers they can redeem and their point price.
Without further ado, let’s jump in and set it up!
Navigate to the Data platform menu and choose Loyalty points from the submenu options.
Initially, you will be greeted by a blank-ish page but that will soon change.

Quick overview #
Constantly at the very top you will find a bar with useful information for the selected period above:
- The number of points earned by your users for the period.
- The number of points redeemed by your users for the period.
- The number of coupons that have been “purchased“ for the period.
Alongside with this information, you will have acces to two tabs each with different purpose:
Earn Points #
This is where you will be able to determine how many points each action the user takes is worth. You can do as little or as many rules as you wish.
Redeem Points #
This is where you would be able to set the various coupons and the amount of points they will cost.
Creating the Rules #
Before you begin, it’s a good idea to research or think how much points each user action will be worth. This will ensure the users will feel appreciated when making orders, subscribing or whatever else you decide to give them points for.
When you’re ready to dive in, click on the button + Add Rule which spans almost the whole screen (you can’t miss it):

Doing so will open a pop-up where you will be able to set all of the different settings to the rule:

Rule options #
Please note, all options with an asterisk are mandatory for the creation of a Royalty Grant Rule.
In each rule, you will have access to different options to set and choose from:
- Event – Here, you can choose the exact event / action the user will be rewarded points for. The most commenly used actions are subscription, registration and of course purchase (points per X currency) but you have a vast number of actions to choose from so be creative!
- Tags – If you have some tags created in Releva that you would like to attach for this as well, you can do so.
- Type:
- Value-based – Choosing this means that the number of points depends on the value of the given action (for ex. the total cost of purchase). For example, if you set 1 point per 1 EUR and a user makes an order for 10 EUR, the user will be granted 10 points. (the currency is taken from your own Releva account).
- Event-based – Event-based means that a fixed number of points are granted each time a user performs the given action. For example, if you set a rule where the user gets 10 points for registration, when they register, they will be rewarded with 10 points.
- Min Value – If you want, you can even set a minimum value after which points will be rewarded (for the value-based type). For example, if you want the user to be rewarded with points only if they make orders above 50 EUR, you can do so and orders below that value won’t receive any points.
- Expiry:
- Calendar – Choosing this option means the points will not expire and will remain indefinitely until the user redeems them.
- Duration – If you want the points to actually expire and force the users to spend them, you can write the amount of days after which the points (not all of them, but the ones they have earned for this particular action) will expire.
- Expire After – This is where you can write the amount of days after which the points (not all of them, but the ones they have earned for this particular action) will expire.
- Points per 1 (Currency) – Here, all you need to do is write the amount of points the users will receive per 1 Currency of the order they have made on your shop. For example, if you set 1 point per 1 EUR and a user makes an order for 10 EUR, the user will be granted 10 points. (the currency is taken from your own Releva account).
Creating the Redeemable Vouchers #
To be able to create Redeemable Coupons as part of the Loyalty program, you will need to first have uploaded Dynamic coupons into Releva. If you haven’t done so, you will be greeted by a similar screen as the one below.

If you would like to read more on how to upload Dynamic Coupons into Releva, please read the documentation below, before proceeding forward with this setup:
After you have created your Dynamic coupons, the + Add Rule button will become clickable and the information sign will disappear:

All that’s left now is to click it which will open a pop-up window with the available options:

Here is a bit more details about each of the options:
- Coupon – This drop-down menu will contain every single Dynamic coupon you have uploaded into Releva. Simply choose the one you would like to use for this Rune.
- Title – This is how this voucher will be called. Please note, this title is what the end users will be seeing so name it accordingly.
- Description – Write a short and on point description for the voucher. Please note, this title is what the end users will be seeing so name it accordingly.
- Point cost – Here, write the amount of points the user will need to spend in order to redeem the voucher.
This is what the newly created redeemable voucher looks like:
