For one reason or another, you may want to export a particular segment of users. The steps are really easy so let’s quickly go through the steps.
First steps #
Everything happens via the Segments, so let’s navigate to Data Platform and select Segments from its options.
One on the page, you have two options: using existing segment or creating a new one. Let’s check both.
Exporting existing segment #
If you would like to export the users from an existing segment all you have to do is find and open the segment you want. If you have multiple pages of Segments, you can utilize the search bar to find it.
Once you find and open it, you can see a button right above the users themselves with name Export Segment. If you want to proceed and export this Segment, click on this button:
Exporting a brand new segment #
Alternatively, you can create a brand new segment, apply all the filters you want and then export the users.
Regardless if you select to use already existing or brand new segment, clicking on the button will result in a request being sent to the backend. You will see the following message letting you know if this as well:
Receiving the file #
Once the file is generated, you will receive an email similar to this:
Please note, as the email suggests, the Download link will be active and valid for 30 days after receiving the email. If you want to access the file afterwards, you may have to request a new export.
