In this article, we will go over how you can create Google specific segments within Releva. Please note, these will be a bit different than your standard Segments you are used to so let’s get over the options you will have.
First Steps #
Before we begin, make sure to expand the Data Platform menu on the left and select Segments from the options:

On the page, click on the New Segment button located at the top-right corner of the section.
When the segment page loads, by default the Scope will be selected a Behavior so in this instance you will have to choose Google. Once done, you will see something similar to the screenshot below so let’s dive a bit deeper into the options.

Options #
When creating the Segment, you will have access to several options so let’s go over each of them seperately.
Google Scope #
Audience Rules for Web Page Visitors #
As the name suggests, with this scope, you can target users based on their interactions during web page visits. To specify the pages you will have to add Rules
Rules #
You will have access to four rules when it comes to page visits:
Contains #
This rule will allow you to specify a particular string of URL to be present. For example, if you write RGB, any URL containing this string in its URL will be used in this segment as long as users have interacted with the page.

Equals #
This rule will look for an exact match in the URL.

Starts with #
This rule will allow you to specify a particular string which is present at the beginning of the URL.

Ends with #
This rule will allow you to specify a particular string which is present at the end of the URL.

You can mix and match multiple Rules and the segment will be created based on the and principle meaning only people that match all rules selected will be included.
Example #
In this particular example, the segment will be created based on the user’s interactions with the website and in particular – users that have interacted with pages containing “summer” in the URL.

Conversion Actions #
With the Conversion Actions scope, you will be able to include users who visited pages with specific tags.
Please note, in order to use this Scope, the Conversion Actions will first need to be created in your Google Ads account. Once created they will automatically sync with Releva and be available for use.

When choosing Actions from the dropdown menu, you will be able to choose multiple options but please note, if you do that the segment will consist only of people that match all of the selected actions.
Once ready with your Segment, make sure to click on the Save button.
When your last piece of the puzzle is done and you have created your Segment, it’s time to actually launch the Google Ad through Releva. To see how that’s done, visit the article below:
