Creating a Segment in the beginning can seem as a daunting task but rest assured – it’s quite easy and self explanatory, so let’s dive in!
The first part is to open the Releva Admin panel, locate and click on the Data Platform menu on the side and select Segments from the available options:

Locate and find Data Platform in the main menu and select Segments from the available options
Once there, click on the “New Segment“ button located at the top right corner:

Click on the “New Segment“ button to start fresh and create a blank one
The first steps would be to write a unique and descriptive name (so later you can easily find it when needed) and choose a Scope for the Segment. If you would like to read a bit more about the different types of segments, click here.

After choosing the scope, the next step is to add the Rules which will shape the results and the audience you will be targeting on your website (via the Product blocks or Banners) or via the different marketing channels with the assistance of the Campaigns and Automations.
We highly advise you to experiment and get comfortable with the Segments. Start by adding one or two rules, see how the audience at the bottom changes, then add Filters to these Rules and see how further it changes.
Do not be afraid to experiment as that is usually the best way to learn.
After you are done adding Rules (and Filters to these Rules) and are happy with the created Audience, click on the Save button located at the bottom right corner and you are good to go!
