A store that runs on its own: the setup, step by step
For the small team: the plug-in, the feed, the sending domain, one hour to set three journeys, and the two numbers to read each month.
- What to prepare before day one
- What goes live, in order
- What to measure in week one and week four

What to prepare
The plug-in for your store
Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, PrestaShop, OpenCart and the other plug-in platforms go live the same day; others take 3 to 5 business days.
Your product feed
Products with stock, prices and images. Every email and every page is filled from it.
Email from your own domain
SPF and DKIM records set a week ahead, and your logo and colors for the templates.
Customers with consent
Import the list with its consent. One hour of your time to set the three journeys is the rest.
What goes live, in order
Browse abandonment
A shopper who viewed products and left gets one email with those products and the picks next to them.
Cart abandonment, email and push
The cart items and a reminder, by email and by web push for shoppers who allowed it. Stops on the order.
A weekly newsletter that sends itself
One template, products picked per recipient, a fixed day and hour. Nobody presses send.
Recommendations on every page
Each visitor sees what they are most likely to buy next, from the first visit.
Pop-ups
The right offer to the right visitor: a sign-up for a first-time visitor, a reminder for a returning one, with a frequency cap.
Leave it running, add ads later
Each email and page is built per person every day. When you want to grow, Releva can run your Meta campaigns from the same profiles.
What to look at, and when
| When | What to look at | What good looks like |
|---|---|---|
| Week 1 | The three journeys sending, delivered share, push permissions granted, pop-up sign-ups | Every journey has sent, nothing lands in spam, the newsletter went out on its day without anyone |
| Week 4 | Share of revenue through the agent, orders from each journey, campaigns sent by hand | The pattern from the food store: a large share of revenue through the agent with no campaign sent by hand |
| Month 3 | Orders against the same month last year, revenue through the agent, time your team spent on marketing | The store sells more than last year with less of the team's time, read in its own orders |
Common mistakes
Sending the weekly newsletter by hand as well. Two newsletters a week is the fastest way to lose subscribers.
Switching pop-ups off after one complaint. Tighten the frequency cap instead; one view per visitor per week is usually enough.
Skipping the sending domain setup. A journey that lands in spam looks like a journey that does not sell.
Asking for push permission on the first page view. Ask after the visitor has looked at a product; the permission rate decides the channel.
