Viber business messages
Viber business messages are messages a company sends to people who opted in on Viber, from a verified business account. In Bulgaria, Greece and Romania, where Viber is the everyday messenger, they reach shoppers that email does not, with read receipts and clicks the store can see.
What it means
There are two kinds. Transactional messages confirm an order, a delivery or a code. Promotional messages carry an offer or a reminder and cost more per message. Both need the shopper's consent, both show who read and who clicked, and both can be sent by the same journeys that send email and push, so a cart reminder can go to Viber for one shopper and to email for another.
Why it matters for a store
In the Bulgarian stores in our Viber white paper, a Viber message was credited with 8 times the orders of an email in the same store and the same months, and automations were credited with about 16 euros of revenue per euro spent. A transactional Viber message cost 53% less than an SMS at the prices those stores paid, and a promotional one far more, which is why the automations earn and the blasts mostly do not.
An example
A pharmacy sends its order confirmations on Viber, and, four weeks later, one replenishment reminder with the customer's usual products. The newsletter stays on email, where it is cheap.
How the agent uses it
Retention sends SMS, Viber and WhatsApp from the same journeys as email and push, charged at cost. The Viber white paper on our white papers page has the method and the numbers.
