AI personal shopper
An AI personal shopper is what a visitor experiences when a sales agent runs the store: search results that fit her, products picked for her on every page, a chat that answers from the live catalog, and messages that match what she looked at.
What it means
The term describes the shopper's side of an autonomous sales agent. In a physical store a personal shopper knows your size, remembers what you tried last time and brings you the two things worth seeing. Online, the agent does the same for every visitor at once, from the first click, not only for shoppers who log in or open a chat window.
Why it matters for a store
The difference from a chat widget is reach. Chat reaches under 1 in 30 visits, site search about 1 in 6 shoppers, and email under 1 in 10 visitors, by the public figures we cite on our Why one agent page. A personal shopper has to work on the product page, in the search box and in the inbox, or it misses most of the store.
An example
A shopper opens a running-shoe page on her phone. The agent ranks the sizes she usually buys first, shows two models bought together with the one she is viewing, and, when the pair in her size comes back in stock, sends one push message about it. She never typed a question.
How the agent uses it
Releva's sales agent is the personal shopper on the site and in the app: personalized search, recommendations on every page, banners and a chat that answers from the catalog and her orders. Retention carries the same memory into email, push and messages.
